The UVA MedConnect program provides current UVA medical students with the opportunity to interact in unique ways with alumni and physicians who are not faculty members at the School of Medicine.
Students will learn about non-academic medicine, special interests such as private practice administration, details of the various specialties and sub-specialties available, and information relevant to making informed career choices. Most importantly, they will forge mutually-beneficial relationships with the mentor volunteers that may lead to additional opportunities, such as shadowing, 4th year clinical rotations and future career placement.
The MedConnect program also offers two anchor events each academic year, featuring alumni panels, roundtable discussions based on specialties, and networking receptions.

All medical alumni and physicians from the Charlottesville area are invited to participate in UVA MedConnect. If you are interested in connecting with students and helping them chart their path to becoming a young physician, please consider becoming a MedConnect volunteer.
