In the Spotlight: 2018 Winter Retreat

The UVA Medical Alumni Association’s 2018 Winter Retreat, formerly known as the Annual Meeting, is a new biennial tradition that blends the best of the former format with new opportunities to learn, relax and celebrate along with fellow alumni, students, housestaff and faculty of the UVA School of Medicine. The event will take place February 16-17 at Lansdowne Resort and Spa in Leesburg, Va.

Highlights include the State of the School address from Dean David S. Wilkes, MD, and a presentation by Daniel “Trey” Lee, MD,  director of UVA’s pediatric stem cell transplant program who has conducted pioneering research into the development of CAR T-cell therapies.

Horsley Award

The John Horsley Memorial Prize is a biennial thesis competition for UVA School of Medicine alumni. The investigation reported in the thesis may be carried out in a laboratory, clinic, or private practice. One winner will be chosen for the $5,000 prize. Entries must be received by April 15.
