Established by bequest of Dr. Paul H. Wornom (Class of 1950; deceased in 2011). Scholarships provided on the basis of financial need to medical students from the Virginia Peninsula areas, viz. the cities of Hampton, Newport News, Poquoson, Williamsburg, and the counties of York and James City. If there is no student qualified within the aforementioned geographic areas, then recipients can be chosen from the Commonwealth of Virginia at large. First scholarships awarded 2011-2012.
