Brian A. Shaw, MD, was named chair, Section on Orthopedic Surgery for the American Academy of Pediatrics in November, 2018. Previously, Dr. Shaw had served the AAP in a number of roles including 20 years as lecturer at multiple national conventions and Practical Pediatrics Courses, chair of the orthopedic policy and publications committee, vice-chair of the Section on Orthopedics, and author of the AAP Clinical Guideline on Developmental Dysplasia of the Hip. Dr. Shaw is currently Associate Professor of Orthopedic Surgery, University of Colorado School of Medicine and Children’s Hospital Colorado, and was honored as the Mark and Jean Abel UVa Pediatric Orthopedic Visiting Professor in 2017.
