Erik Christensen, MD ’90, was appointed Chief Medical Examiner for the State of Utah in July 2016. As a part of the Utah Department of Health, the Office of the Medical Examiner is responsible for the investigation of sudden, unexplained and non-natural deaths occurring within the state. The data gathered from these investigations is used to identify public health prevention efforts in reducing suicides, drug-related deaths, and other public health issues.
