Lee Fanning, MD ’70, FACP, retired from infectious disease consultation and his role as director of utilization over a year ago and just completed a book about being a flight surgeon in the US Coast Guard in the 1970’s in San Francisco. The book includes involvement in a hijacking of a 737 by Bulgarian hijackers and a shoot out with the FBI which killed one passenger and wounded two others. He hopes to have the book available in about six months. He says, “I wish all my fellow classmates good health and safe travel.”
