Vanessa M. Barnabei, MD ’85, PhD ’81, has accepted the position of associate dean for faculty advancement and development in the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences Office of Faculty Affairs in Buffalo, NY. Since October 2012, Barnabei has served as chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Jacobs School and will continue in this role until a search for a replacement is completed. She is active in the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, especially the New York District, is the current president of the Central Association of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and has been invited to sit on the newly convened Maternal Mortality Review Board for New York State Department of Health. Barnabei continues to see patients, teach residents and medical students, and participate in clinical research in women’s health.
