W. Shawn Carbonell, MD ‘06, PhD ‘05, and his cofounder, Barbie Blank, have launched a 501c3 nonprofit called Cure Glioblastoma in Los Angeles, CA.

The mission of the organization is to provide solutions for those affected by brain cancer. This includes spreading awareness, curated resources, building cures, and tactical investments.

Dr. Carbonell is a physician-scientist, entrepreneur, and inventor of first-in-class cancer drug candidate OS2966 (phase I study currently enrolling for recurrent high grade glioma). Ms. Blank is an entrepreneur, influencer, and former WWE superstar wrestler. Her father passed away in 2018 just two months after being diagnosed with glioblastoma.
