Alexander, Y. Halim, MD, passed away on August 27, 2019. The following tribute was shared by his colleagues at the University of California-Irvine School of Medicine, where he was a fifth-year orthopaedic surgery resident:

“Alex was a beloved member of the UCI community and of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. He was one of those individuals who always had smile on his face and put others before himself. Alex was a friend to every resident in the program and universally liked and respected by faculty and staff. He will be missed tremendously by anyone who ever worked with him and words cannot describe the void left in our hearts by his passing.

Alex came to UCI after completing medical school at the University of Virginia. He did his undergraduate work at the University of California, Los Angeles. An excellent surgeon, Alex had recently matched into the hand surgery fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine.”
