Allan Mark Lefer, age 82, passed away peacefully at his home in Hilton Head, South Carolina, surrounded by his family on November 2, 2018. He was born on February 1, 1936 in New York, New York to Judah and Lillian Lefer. In 1974 he was recruited to be Chair of the Department of Physiology at Thomas Jefferson Medical School in Philadelphia, PA. He trained over 75 graduate students and lectured to hundreds of medical students.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Lefer; his brother, Lewis Lefer and his four children Debra Clemens, David Lefer, Barry Lefer and Leslie Lefer.
