Dr. Louis C. Rehlen (Chris), born November 3, 1937, passed peacefully in his sleep on August 26, 2019. He was lovingly known as Dr. Rehlen to his patients, Chris to his family and friends and Papa Lou to his grandson.

Chris received his medical degree from the University of Virginia School of Medicine and completed his Residency at UCLA Medical Center. He was a founding partner of his Dermatology group where he practiced for 35 years. He enjoyed getting to know his patients over the years and often remarked that it was the best part of his job.

Chris was larger than life and lived it to the fullest. His love of learning and passion for travel took him around the world and filled him with countless stories. As an avid fisherman he enjoyed many fishing trips, but his favorite spot was deep sea fishing in the East Cape of Baja Mexico. One of his best fishing moments was watching his grandson catch his first marlin during a trip to the East Cape.

He loved to spend time with his family and friends, telling stories and sharing memories. He was generous with his time and enjoyed meeting new people and learning about them.

He will be missed as we have lost one of the “good guys.” His last written words were, “I’ll be watching you…” Rest in peace Chris, we love you.
