Dr. Michael James Forsythe passed away peacefully on Monday, September 30, 2019 at JFK Medical Center in Atlantis, Florida. He was in the presence of his loving family.

He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in January and spent the last nine months fighting with grace, courage, and dignity.

Michael was born in Washington, D.C. on October 4, 1948, and grew up in Arlington, Va. He was the son of James Matthew and Patricia Kelley Forsythe who both predeceased him.

He was a graduate of Bishop O’Connell High School, Boston College, and the University of Virginia School of Medicine. His career as an anesthesiologist was spent in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and for over 30 years in Miami-Dade and Palm Beach County, Florida. Michael enjoyed his work and took great pride in administering anesthesia and providing pain relief. He touched many lives with his caring and generosity.

He is survived by his wife Darlene (Beard) whom he married in 1979; son, Christopher Forsythe, his wife, Jennifer, and granddaughter, Emma; his in-laws, James and Joan Beard; brothers-in-law Kevin Beard his wife Phyllis; and Keith Beard.

Michael loved books and learning his entire life. He loved Irish music, crossword puzzles, sudoku, and any and all jokes. He loved God and theology.

His greatest love was reserved for his family who will always love and remember and miss him forever.
