Scott Eugene Campbell, MD, passed away suddenly while exercising at his home on January 18 in Austin, Texas. He was known for his skill as an interventional neuroradiologist as he lived out his life and faith helping those in need, but his world revolved around his wife and children.

Born in Beeville, Texas to Joy O’Connell Campbell and Gene Campbell. Scott was the older brother to Rob. While growing up, the family moved around to many places in the U.S. and Bermuda as Scott’s dad served in the U.S. Navy. After graduating from Orange Park High School in Florida, Scott earned a Bachelor and Medical Doctorate from the University of North Carolina, before completing a radiology residency at The University of Virginia and a neuroradiology fellowship at Duke University. Scott served as a flight surgeon in the U.S. Navy, flying and serving his country in many places around the world, including a two-year assignment in Antarctica. While in the Navy, Scott met the love of his life, Troye Crickette. Scott and Troye married in 1993. They were blessed with three amazing daughters: Holly, Casey, and Kylie.

Scott was an incredibly proud father. He took an active and encouraging role in his kids’ lives, cheering them on during their multiple sports endeavors; especially their volleyball games and tournaments, where the girls have excelled. He had incredible energy, passion and heart for others and for life. He lived life to the fullest.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Refuge Austin.
