Dr. Thomas Knight Aldrich, died at home on September 5, 2016 after battling cancer. He was 65 years old.

Dr. Aldrich was born on September 11, 1950. After graduating from Swarthmore College in 1972 and the University of Minnesota Medical School in 1975, he trained in internal medicine at the University of California, Irvine, in pulmonary medicine at the University of Virginia, and completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania. He then began a long career as professor of pulmonary medicine and critical care at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, NY. He was passionate about his patients, his fellows’ success, and his research. Most known for his dedication to helping others, Dr. Aldrich also loved to play tennis, ice hockey and spending time with his kids.

Fiercely devoted to and loved by his family, he is survived by his wife of 44 years, Susan (nee Yelsey), daughter Katie Mischaikow (husband Chris), son Drew Aldrich (wife Quinn), father Knight Aldrich, sister Carol Barkin, and brother Bob Aldrich. He was preceded in death by his mother Julie Aldrich, and brother Michael Aldrich.
