Dr. Edwin Vaughan, Class of 1937, was described as a man who loved life and gave his all to his family, his church, and his global community. He died in June 2008 at the age of 95, naming the UVA School of Medicine as one of his beneficiaries. The Vaughan Scholarship Fund was established in his memory and provides scholarships to medical students on the basis of academic merit or financial need. The first scholarships were awarded in the Spring of 2009.
