Paris Butler, MD ’04, Res ’12, MPH, is the 2019 University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine Minority Hall of Fame recipient. This annual award is given by the underrepresented in medicine graduating medical students, who select a faculty member who has contributed most to their success in medical school.

Dr. Butler obtained his medical degree from University of Virginia and completed general surgery residency at UVA. He pursued a post-doctoral research fellowship at Stanford and received his Masters in Public Health degree from UC Berkeley. He then completed the independent plastic surgery residency at the University of Pennsylvania. Today he is an assistant professor of plastic surgery.
