Steven Leichter, MD ’70, was recently featured in Atlanta media coverage of a 15-year-old girl who is among the first patients to receive TZIELD infusions, a medical treatment to delay Type 1 Diabetes. The therapy is designed to prevent the body’s autoimmune process from interfering in insulin production.

Leichter is an endocrinologist with Piedmont Regional Columbus. He is a nationally recognized, board certified endocrinologist and Fellow of the American College of Physicians and American College of Clinical Endocrinologists and has a special interest in treating metabolic diseases and osteoporosis.
