Our Volunteer Leadership

The University of Virginia Medical Alumni Association, established in 1949, is an independent organization dedicated to serving the University of Virginia School of Medicine and more than 17,000 student, alumni, faculty and housestaff constituents. The University of Virginia Medical School Foundation, established in 1972, exists as the financial arm of the University of Virginia Medical Alumni Association.

The UVA Medical Alumni Association and Medical School Foundation operates as an independent 501(C)(3) organization. Both are governed by separate boards of volunteer leaders, representing our constituents.
