Family Day 2026
The annual event offers a glimpse at life in medical school to the families of first-year MD students
More than 150 people attended Family Day 2026, an event that aims to show family members of first -year MD students what it’s like to go to medical school.
The day’s agenda included presentations from the college deans and a team-based learning exercise. A panel of current students also shared their perspectives on topics related to life in medical school. Attendees were also offered the opportunity to participate in tours of the Simulation Center and the Historical Collections Library.
While the majority of the day’s programming was only open to family members, about 50 current first-year students joined their family members for breakfast and lunch.
“Family Day is a great opportunity for us to welcome the family members of MD students back to Grounds after the excitement of the White Coat Ceremony, and the event helps them better understand their student’s experience here so that they know how to support them during medical school,” said Wendy Baldwin, associate director of constituent relations. “We’re thrilled that so many SMD’30 family members could join us this year.”
Family Day is one of many programs and events made possible by alumni support of the Annual Fund.
