The UVA Medical Alumni Association is proud to welcome nearly 300 new graduates of the School of Medicine to our alumni community!
On May 17, graduates receiving MD, PhD, and MPH degrees gathered on the steps of the Old Medical School for a pre-graduation breakfast, hosted by the UVA Medical Alumni Association. Graduates participated in Final Exercises at the University of Virginia, followed by degree-specific ceremonies:
- 151 medical students in the Class of 2026 received Doctor of Medicine degrees this year. Their diploma and hooding ceremony took place at the Paramount Theater in downtown Charlottesville and was filled was family and friends.
- 42 Biomedical Sciences Graduate Program (BIMS) students received Doctor of Philosophy degrees in the 2025-26 academic year. Graduates and guests gathered at McLeod Hall’s Auditorium to celebrate.
- 100 Department of Public Health Sciences students were awarded Master’s degrees in public health, biological and physical sciences, or clinical research in the 2025-26 academic year. A celebration for graduates was held in Culbreth Theatre.
