The UVA Medical Alumni Association has announced the winners of its 2019 Alumni Awards:

• Walter Reed Distinguished Achievement Award: William A. Petri, Jr., PhD ‘80, MD ‘82, Fel ‘88, professor of medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases and International Health, and vice chair, Department of Medicine, University of Virginia
• Early Achievement Award: Xinning Li, MD ‘05, associate professor, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Boston University School of Medicine
• Outstanding Medical Alumnus Award: Frederick L. Greene, MD ‘70, surgical oncologist and medical director at Levine Cancer Institute
