In the News: Coronavirus Reponse

Like you, the UVA Medical Alumni Association is closely monitoring the emerging impact of COVID-19 is having nationwide. We realize that, as medical professionals, many of you are on the front lines of this pandemic, and we salute your dedication to the patients you serve and for being the epitome of President Ryan’s charge to be both “great and good.”

As you may know, the University of Virginia has made operational and academic changes in response to this rapidly-evolving situation. In accordance with these changes, we have made the difficult decision to cancel or postpone all of our upcoming spring events through May 2020. These include:

  • Match Day Celebration
  • Medical School Reunion Weekend
  • Black Medical Alumni Weekend

Please refer to our Events calendar for updates on these and other planned events.

Also, as of March 17, staff at the UVA Medical Alumni Association and Medical School Foundation are working remotely until further notice. You can find their contact information here.

Well Wishes for SMD’20

As a result of operational changes at UVA, the Match Day Celebration for the Class of 2020 was canceled. Students received their Match results via email on March 20.
