Congratulations, Class of 2023

Nearly 300 students graduated from the University of Virginia School of Medicine in 2022-2023 — 162 MDs, 48 PhDs and 85 Masters degrees. All were invited to walk the Lawn on Sunday, May 21, and join fellow UVA graduates in front of Old Cabell Hall for the University of Virginia’s 2023 Final Exercises. A trio of distinguished speakers headlined the 194th Final Exercises.

Dean Melina Kibbe, MD, presided over diploma ceremonies for graduates.

The Doctor of Medicine degrees were conferred in a Graduation Ceremony on Sunday afternoon at the Paramount Theater. In 2022-2023, the School of Medicine graduated 162 MDs.

The Biomedical Sciences Graduate Program’s Hooding Ceremony also took place on Sunday, with 48 students receiving PhD degrees.

Students from the Department of Public Health Sciences received their degrees at ceremonies on Saturday and Sunday. These included 48 Master of Public Health degrees and 4 Master of Science in Clinical Research degrees. In addition there were 92 undergraduate degrees presented in Global Studies.
