MedConnect Women in Medicine Panel

Join the UVA Medical Alumni Association for this MedConnect session focusing on issues facing women in medicine.

The session is open to current UVA medical students and will be conducted via Zoom.  Questions for the panelists are encouraged and can be submitted on the event registration form.

Our panelists will each host a breakout room during the session, and participants will be able to choose from the following:

  • Kate Burns, MD ’18 is a PGY-3 pediatrics resident at Rush University in Chicago.
  • Adrian Preston, MD ’96 is a Board-Certified cardiologist with Johns Hopkins Medicine. She completed her internal medicine residency at Dartmouth Medical Center and a cardiology fellowship at Boston University. She specializes in consultative cardiology, echocardiography, and nuclear cardiology.
  • Sharman Reed, MD ’98 is a Board-Certified obstetrician/gynecologist who works for the Colorado Permanente Medical Group in Denver. She has been with the group since completing her residency in 2002 at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.
  • Laura Rosenberger, MD, Res ’15 is a Board-Certified surgeon with the Duke Cancer Center North Durham. After completing her general surgery residency at UVA, she did a breast surgical oncology fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
