Session 4: Special Populations: Cancer Pain & Pelvic Pain (8-9pm)

Cancer Pain for the Primary Care Physician   – Dr. Andrew Mendelson, UVA Department of Anesthesiology

Dr. Mendelson will discuss the incidence and etiology of cancer pain and will be reviewing both pharmacological and nonpharmacologic options- and the advantages of blending the two.

 

Chronic Pelvic Pain – Dr. Jessica Strasburg, Cleveland Clinic

Dr. Strasburg will discuss how to recognize chronic pelvic pain in your patient and the importance of a team approach to treatment. With a focus on a strong foundation of open doctor-patient communication, she will discuss how to do a patient centered exam utilizing trauma informed care.
