More than 150 students and family members from the Class of 2023 attended Family Day 2019 on October 5. The annual event, sponsored by the UVA Medical Alumni Association, is an opportunity for families to learn more about the life of a medical student at the University of Virginia.

The day’s agenda included presentations from Dean David S. Wilkes, MD, and a team-based learning exercise led by Mary Kate Worden, PhD. Each of the four college advisory deans were also on hand to talk about aspects of the student experience, and special Vivian Pinn, MD ’68, namesake of Pinn College and Pinn Hall, spoke to participants and shared remarks. The day concluded with a performance from the acapella group, The Arrhythmics, and a panel discussion featuring current second, third and fourth year medical students.
