Thank You, Class of 1965

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused many in-person events to be postponed, including the UVA Medical Alumni Association’s 2020 White Coat Ceremony for the Class of 2024, which was scheduled to be held when students matriculated in August. Knowing the significance of this medical school milestone, the Class of 1965, which generously endows the ceremony, recently chose to provide plain white coats to the students until they can receive their personally embroidered coats at a later date.

Sunny Murthy, SMD’24, said, “This year has been unlike any other, yet at every hurdle, we have felt the overwhelming support from our alumni. Receiving this coat is simply another example of your successful efforts to provide us with a glimpse of normality. Thank you, not only for providing us with a white coat, but for supporting our journey in medicine.”

Thanks to the Class of 1965 for their generous and ongoing support of the UVA School of Medicine.
