Medical Student Safe Travel Reimbursement

The UVA Medical Alumni Association will provide reimbursements to any medical student who needs to travel from home to the UVA Medical Center prior to the first run of the UTS inner loop at 7:30 a.m. Students can call Yellow Cab at 434-295-4131 or Uber. Reimbursement will cover the full fare plus a gratuity of up to 20 percent with a receipt.

As a reminder, students can use the University’s Safe Ride service Sunday through Wednesday 12 a.m. to 7 a.m., and Thursday through Saturday 2:30 a.m. to 7 a.m. for travel from the UVA Medical Center to their home. Information and guidelines on the Safe Ride program can be found here.
