Virginia Medicine July 2020

In the News: Congratulations, Class of 2020

On May 16, University of Virginia President Jim Ryan conferred the degrees of Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Philosophy in Biomedical Sciences, Master of Public Health and Master of Science to 262 candidates from the School of Medicine. Congratulations, graduates!

During the virtual ceremony, the UVA Medical Alumni Association announced Lois Davis as the recipient of this year’s Outstanding Student Award. The award is presented annually to a member of the graduating class who has made unique and tangible contributions to the University of Virginia School of Medicine and to the Medical Alumni Association. In addition to serving as our fourth-year student representative, Davis also volunteered as an ambassador, helping to organize and recruit for events, and was a member of the planning committee for the inaugural Black Medical Alumni Weekend.
