Welcome, Class of 2021!
Do you live near an academic medical center? We have a great volunteer opportunity for you: hosting a fourth-year student traveling for a residency interview. It’s a meaningful way to engage with students and share insight about the local community and medical center. Volunteers are needed October through January. Volunteer today!
Make plans now to join us for our 2018 Winter Retreat at Lansdowne Resort and Spa in Leesburg, Va. This event, formerly known as the Annual Meeting, is a new biennial tradition that blends the best of the former format with new opportunities to learn, relax and celebrate along with fellow alumni, students, housestaff and faculty of the UVA School of Medicine.
Congratulations to alumna Barbara Bass, MD ’79, FACS, president-elect of the American College of Surgeons (ACS). Dr. Bass chairs the Department of Surgery at Houston Methodist Hospital. Alumni, housestaff and faculty are invited to join us for a reception at the 2017 ACS Clinical Congress in San Diego honoring Dr. Bass.
Meet future doctor Eamon, son of alumna Emily Gorman Williams, MD ’10. Eamon is modeling the baby bib we sent his parents to congratulate them on their new arrival. Isn’t he adorable? If you’re an alumnus/a who is expecting or you’ve recently added to your family, please let us know and we’ll be happy to send you a “V Medicine” bib, too.
Thanks to alumni support, we were able to provide every incoming medical student with a stethoscope for the third year in a row. When you make a gift to our Annual Fund, you are making a difference in the lives of today’s students and tomorrow’s doctors. On their behalf, we thank you. Learn about ways to give online.
